I used this personal project to experiment with details on curved surfaces and leaf surfacing. I modeled the main body as a flat plane the deformed into a cylinder to ensure the geometry would have no pinching. The surfacing of the leaves proposed a challenge but after using countless references I was able to make them believable.
The environment was created using Unreal Engine's Megascans library.
The robot and ladybug were modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered using Unreal Engine 5 and Renderman.
